On his popular blog, “Reverse Wine Snob,” Jon Thorsen declares Il Poggione Brancato Rosé, “my new favorite rosé” after doing a comparative tasting with a few of the other popular new rosés. In his words:
“In fact, when we tasted this wine we made the mistake of putting it first in a sampling of a few different bottles and frankly nothing else could even come close to the bar set by this wine.”
We were thrilled to hear how much he enjoyed our rosé and are happy to share his tasting notes:
“Swirling and sniffing the 2014 Il Poggione Brancato Rosato di Toscana reveals a very fresh and enticing aroma of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, some floral notes and hints of watermelon and tangerine. With fantastic rich fruit, mineral notes, great acidity, touches of spice and an incredible texture in the mouth this is one fantastic rosé. It ends with a very persistent and satisfying finish, so much so that it is almost impossible not to take another sip.
“In the ongoing marketing battle over old vines, this is simply a superb use of young ones. Bravo!”
